This privacy policy describes the collection, use and processing of personal data by the Confederation of European Waste-to-Energy Plants (CEWEP).

What is CEWEP?

CEWEP (Confederation of European Waste-to-Energy Plants) represents the operators of Waste-to-Energy plants towards EU institutions and other stakeholders.

Which personal data does CEWEP collect?

As a CEWEP member or an external stakeholder, you may provide us with personal data information when using our website, interacting with us on social media, registering for events or subscribing to updates on our organisation.

Generally we collect personal data directly from you, but we may sometimes obtain personal data from third parties such as directories or EU institutions websites.

Will CEWEP share my personal data?

As a non-profit organisation CEWEP does not share or sell any personal data to third parties for any commercial purposes.

Personal data may be shared with CEWEP members for the same legitimate interest and purpose CEWEP uses them.

Your personal data may be processed outside the European Union. In such case, the transfer of data is governed by a data processing agreement to provide adequate safeguards as defined by the EU GDPR.

What are cookies?

Cookies are files stored on your computer which enable us to track your computer’s use of CEWEP’s website.

Why does CEWEP use cookies?

Our website may use cookies as a tracking technique in order to collect technical information about your use for the purpose of improving and tailoring its content and making it more user-friendly.

We also use third-party tools such as Youtube embedded videos and a Twitter feed. While we took measures to reduce the cookies generated by these tools, they might still generate cookies to register anonymous statistical data for their own uses. For example, Youtube registers anonymous statistical data on how many times a video is displayed and what settings are used for playback. No sensitive data is collected unless you log in to your Google account, in that case your choices are linked with your account, for example if you click “like” on a video.
